Day 1: Pick up from Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your Driver – guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali after breakfast and head out for a short Kigali City Tour visiting the Kimironko Markets and Kigali Genocide Memorial before embark on a journey to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with border crossing at Cyanika Border. After clearing with the border authorities, continue to Bwindi Forest with en-route in Kabale Town. You will arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest, preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest – Drive back to Kigali

Wake up early for breakfast, meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters where you will join other visitors for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while with the gorillas. In groups of 8 people and led by armed rangers and guides you will head into the forest searching for mountain gorillas.

Depending on the location of the gorilla family assigned to your group, the trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours of hike through the emerald forest’s slippery trails. On locating the gorilla troop you will spend precious hour in their presence as you watch them play, feed and groom each other, babies playing and the silverback keeping an eye on the family.

After this magical hour of creating memories, you will trek back to the starting point, meet your driver guide and return to your lodge to freshen up. Later check out and start your journey back to Kigali where you will be dropped off either at the airport or at your booked hotel.
