Our 4-day Bwindi gorillas, Lake Mburo and Lake Bunyonyi safari is meant for those coming to do mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park but have some time to add on other activities. It also suites those that want to do a driving safari but do not want to drive for long. All stops included in our 4 Day Lake Mburo, Bwindi gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi safari ensure that we have enough stops to and from the gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This tour starts in Kigali with game drives and boat cruise in Lake Mburo, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and a canoe ride in Lake Bunyonyi.
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali/hotel and transfer to Bwindi
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will meet our driver guide and your day starts with a complimentary tour of the city. Named in 1907 by Dr. Richard Kandt, the first colonial resident governor of Rwanda; Kigali city is surrounded by lush hills of green and is referred to as the land of a thousand hills. Get to visit interesting spots which may include; the craft market, Gisozi genocide memorial site & Kigali museum. Depart for Bwindi impenetrable National Park with a visit to the genocide memorial site arriving at your hotel late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi and transfer Lake Bunyonyi.
After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the National Park headquarters to meet your ranger guides for the day. After completing our park formalities, we are embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of tracking mountain Gorillas Once you spot them you are allowed to spend one hour watching with them. This is perhaps one of the most breath-taking wildlife experiences on earth, you get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the Mountain Gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. These massive primates are extremely rare, with less than 700 living today. You will get within seven meters of distance with them. The trekking may be fairly strenuous; up to six hours or longer at a relatively high altitude.
Later in the afternoon, drive through the terraced hills to Lake Bunyonyi. Check in your accommodation for a relaxed evening with stunning view of the lake.

Day 3: Boat cruise at Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Lake Mburo
On this morning after a tasty breakfast, have breakfast at the lodge terrace while viewing the beautiful islands of the lake termed as a great destination for birders due to the various numbers of birds that are available, apart from that it has eye-catching sceneries including the waters, hills, forests, islands among others. Have a boat cruise to Visit almost all the Islands on the lake and later transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Day 4: Guided Walking safari in Lake Mburo and transfer to Kigali or Entebbe International Airport.
Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guide. On this early morning guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): zebras, giraffes, eland, topi, other antelope, and Cape buffaloes among others.
Take the trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond. From this vantage point, you will have a great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo National Park. In the afternoon, transfer back Kigali or Entebbe International Airport for your flight.

GENERAL INFORMATION
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
All visitors to Uganda must have a valid passport with at least 4 consecutive blanks pages. Any applicable visa and/or relevant documentation are the responsibility of the traveller. For further information on Visa requirements visitors are advised to contact their nearest Uganda Embassy or Consulate.

220 Volts/AC50Hz. Sockets are UK style, 3 pin square plugs. Power is from the UMEME in the city/major towns and generator with inverter back up in the Safari Lodges and Camps.
CURRENCY:
Foreign currency must be changed at the Bank, Bureau de Change, and Hotel/Safari lodge/Camp/Resort. Major Credit Cards, Master card, Visa, American Express, are usually accepted throughout the country. Where credit cards are accepted, the payment will normally be recorded in US$ regardless of the card’s default currency.
CLOTHING:
Dress is mainly informal and should be comfortable as well as practical. Something warm should be brought along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are available from hotels/lodges/camps.
BAGGAGE:
Where possible, travel light. Baggage space on safari is limited to medium suitcase or soft bag per person plus reasonable amount of hand luggage. There is 15 Kilogram per person limit on all flights to the wildlife sanctuaries. Excess luggage must be stored in your arrival hotel.
WATER:
You will find many different of opinion of what is safe and what is not. We recommend for peace of mind, to drink local Bottled Mineral water. It is important to drink plenty of water especially during the hotter months. We would recommend that guests drink at least 2 to 3 litres of water per day to limit the effects of dehydration.
HEALTH;
East Africa is a safe and secure destination; however, it is a good idea to take a few precautions. Kindly consult your GP or local doctor at least 6 weeks before you travel, with regards:
Malaria prophylactics. East Africa is a known malaria area and preventive measures are essential. You are advised to take one of the recommended anti-malarial drugs. Be sure to wear long sleeved shorts and trousers after sunset and spray the exposed parts of your body with a mosquito repellent spray
Remember to protect yourself from direct sun rays with sunscreen cream or safari hat.

Please be careful when photographing public buildings, airports, bridges, the national flag and people in uniform. Ensure that you have sought permission before photographing local people and their villages. If in doubt, please check with your guide.
