Upon arrival at Windhoek International Airport, you’ll be met and are driven by our private driver to your guesthouse—The Olive Grove Guesthouse, which is one of the top boutique hotel’s in the city.
Later in the day, our local consultant will meet you there to receive your hired car with you and check the vehicle. You will also go over the trip details together as they answer any questions that you might have.

You’ll depart Windhoek early and head for Namibia’s famous Namib-Naukluft National Park. It is a journey of 5-6 hours, but it will no doubt pass quickly as you enjoy travelling through the stunning landscape of Namibia.
Your destination is Kwessi Dune lodge, you’ll find 12 cool and comfortable (and air-conditioned) chalets- 10 x twin/ double and 2 x family chalets all with canvas walls and thatched roofs. Each bedroom has a separate ‘star gazer’ room, completely open to the sky, and the perfect spot from which to watch the celestial theatre show above.

Today you’ll have a full day to explore the spectacular towering dunes of the national park, plus the much photographed pans of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei.
Doing this as part of a guided tour with the lodge enables you to take advantage of the lodge’s private gate into the national park, which means you can often beat some of the other visitors to the park coming from through the main gate.
Depending on how many dunes you have climbed in the morning, you might want to relax at the lodge in the afternoon or you can join a sundowner drive which is offered by the lodge.

After breakfast, you’ll depart Kulala Desert Lodge and embark on your drive to Swakopmund set on the Atlantic Coast at the edge of the Namib Desert.
Kwessi can provide you with a packed lunch, otherwise Rostock Ritz Lodge which is near the tropic of Capricorn signpost makes a convenient stop for a break and a meal, in their restaurant.
You’ll continue across the Namib Desert, keeping a look out for an occasional ostrich in the margins of the dunes or a springbok sheltering under the shade of an exposed shepherd’s tree. You’ll then hit the coast at Walvis Bay and we recommend that you make a stop at its famous lagoon which can be home to thousands of lesser and greater flamingos, as well as many other species of wading birds.
Upon arrival at Swakopmund, you’ll check into the Cornerstone Guesthousein the center of the town. You can spend the afternoon exploring this historic town with its German inspired architecture, palm-lined streets and seaside promenades.

Today included in your trip is a Catamaran cruise along a stretch of the Skeleton Coast. After meeting at the Walvis Bay waterfront, you will be welcomed aboard the catamaran to enjoy an adventure packed tour keeping a look out for the ‘Marine Big Five’, which includes dolphins, whales, turtles, seals and mola mola fish.

You’ll leave Swakopmund today and head out of town on the salt road that continues for hundreds of kilometres along the skeleton coast. We recommend taking a slight detour to visit Cape Cross seal colony, around 120km north of Swakopmund, where you can see over 100,000 Cape fur seals packed into a small bay!
Your next destination on this Namibia self-drive itinerary is Camp Kipwe in Damaraland, situated within the Twyfelfontein Conservancy in the Damaraland area of Namibia. Your accommodation at this luxury camp comprises of 10 bungalows nestled amongst the granite boulders, iconic of this region. There’s also a small shaded swimming pool and a number of seating areas scattered around the hillside, all offering fantastic views.

Today you have the chance to enjoy up to two scheduled activities from Mowani Mountain Camp, which can be booked directly with the lodge.
The lodge is conveniently located for visiting the Twyfelfontein Rock Engravings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to ancient etchings. Some of these engravings are thought to be around 6,000 years old and are considered to be some of the best-preserved examples anywhere on the continent. You can also join a nature drive to search for the animals that call this harsh part of Namibia home.
A highlight is most certainly the desert adapted elephants which are regularly seen, especially in the dry season, between May and October. Watching a small family herd of elephants lumber along a dry riverbed, kicking up the red sand against a dramatic, rugged, Damaraland landscape is an experience you won’t forget in a hurry.

Today you’ll drive to Namibia’s premier wildlife viewing destination, Etosha National Park.
Your accommodation will be Andersson’s at Ongava, a newly built camp in the private Ongava Reserve, which borders the national park. The benefit of staying within the Ongava Reserve is that it is still very easy to access the national park itself, either on guided activities from the lodge or by driving yourselves. In as well as this being on a private reserve, it opens up further activities that are not possible in the national park, such as bush walks. Morning and afternoon safari drives are also possible as well as night drives. Another bonus is that there is a limit on visitor numbers within the private reserve, therefore it is less busy than Etosha itself.
Your accommodation at Andersson’s Camp comprises of just 8 spacious suites all of which feature large windows on three sides, giving you incredible opportunities to spot wildlife as it wanders past.

Today you’ll have a full day to explore Etosha National Park and the Ongava Game Reserve, either on guided activities which can be booked directly with the lodge or on self-drive adventures into the national park.
On game drives, you’re likely to see rhino, giraffe, elephant, leopard, zebra, springbok and gemsbok, plus endangered cheetah, black rhino and rare antelope species such as black-faced impala, Damara dik dik and roan antelope.

After breakfast this morning, you’ll have time to enjoy a final activity at into Etosha, before heading south again to your next destination of Okonjima Plains Camp, in the central highlands of Namibia.
Set in the family-run 200sq km private Okonjima Nature Reserve, it is the perfect destination to end your trip with the opportunity for further safari and the chance to spot rare predators that might have alluded you so far.
You’ll have a chance to enjoy a walk this afternoon or a nature drive, that can be booked directly with the lodge, or perhaps you’d prefer to just relax at the lodge.

Enjoy the hues of Namibia’s golden morning light for one last time before heading back to Windhoek International Airport in time for your afternoon flight. It is around a 3.5-hour drive from Erongo Wilderness Lodge to the airport, so make sure to leave in plenty of time to check-in for your flights.
