Burundi Capital Bujumbura is a landlocked country with a population of 12, 89 million, 18 provinces and the National language is Kirundi. Burundi is in the Great Rift Valley at the junction between the African great lakes region and southeast Africa. It is bordered by Rwanda to the north, Tanzania to the east and southeast. And Democratic republic of Congo to the west. Lake Tanganyika lies along its southwestern border. Burundi known for its famous Traditional Royal drummers and Lake Tanganyika.
Day 1: Kibira National Park, Teza Tea Plantation and Gitega National Museum
As we will pick you up at the hotel early in the morning around 7:30. We will start driving to Muramvya, visit Kibira National Park and Teza Tea plantation. You will have an amazing experience by learning how the Burundian Tea is made and discover the Kibira forest and its different animals that are fund there.
After visiting Kibira National park and Teza tea plantation. We will head to Gitega, have firstly lunch in town with their famous brochette and uburobe and then visit the Gitga National Museum that host some of the best archival information about the history of Burundi founded in 1955.
By the end of our first visit we will go at the hotel, have dinner and get rest for tomorrow’s day.
Matergo Hotel: One of the best Hotel in Gitega that has nice view of the town and an amazing breakfast with organic fruits that you won’t find anywhere else.
Day 2: The Royal traditional Burundi drummers, Pyramid at the southern source of the river Nile.
On the day 2 after breakfast we will go visit the Burundian royal drummers, have a show of their dance and visit the royal sanctuary, after that we will drive to Rutovu to see the Pyramid. A lunch buffet will be waiting for us and then after lunch, we will goThere. They we will learn how waldecker how and why he put the Pyramid at the exact place. And not anywhere else.
After visiting Rutovu, will head in Rutana for the night and at after dinner a campfire will be waiting for us and then get rest after for tomorrow ‘s day.

Day 3: Karera water falls and the Nyakazu fault
On our third day of the trip, after waking up at the perroquet hotel with a wonderful and relaxing weather. We will have breakfast and after the breakfast, start our day by visiting the karera waterfalls, spectacular series of waterfalls in the southeastern Burundi and south of Rutana. And after that head to the Nyakazu fault by hiking and at the top when you arrive, you will have an amazing surprise of the view that is breathtaking, that goes with the story of why they name it Nyakazu fault.
After visiting the places we will drive to Rumonge and that’s where we will have our lunch at Kikwetu with different kind and delicious food and be able to taste our famous fresh Mukeke from the lake Tanganyika. After lunch we will go to the hotel with the view of the lake and relax there, people who will want to swim will have the opportunity. And that will be the end of the day by staying at sunstone beach hotel.
Sunstone Beach Hotel: Rumonge, one of the best hotel in Rumonge and even the region with a wonderful view and fresh sea food.
Day 4: Lake Tanganyika
Lake Tanganyika one the famous lake In Burundi, the second freshwater lake in the world, second deepest and it is shared among 3 countries Tanzania, democratic republic of Congo and Zambia. We are lucky to have the lake because it’s really helpful for fishing and Tourism activities like kayaking, padleboarding, boating and swimming. And in all those activities you will be able to do them. And After that we will end our trip by driving back to Bujumbura.

General Information:
- All the foreigners are required to have a valid passport at least 1 year of validation.
- Foreigners pay in USD currency as per the request of our government. They can pay by using credit card, only visa card is available, also in some places not everywhere. That’s why we advise our Tourist to have some cash on them.
- On your stay in Burundi you will have a guide all along that will be helping you for the language (English or French).
- Feel free to wear comfortable cloths in Bujumbura, but during the trip we advise you something warm along for early morning and evenings. Safari clothes are not available. Advisable to bring your own.
- For tourists who have allergies to some food or anything else should be communicated before arrival.
- Drinking local water from the tap is prohibited, always drinking bottled water and keep your body hydrated for safety by drinking at least 2liters of water.
- Always stay with the guide, never go far from him for safety and communication.
- Pictures should be taken when the Guide give his authorization, for your safety.
