5-Day Queen Elizabeth National Park Exploration

Day 1: Arrival in Queen Elizabeth National Park Upon arrival at Mweya Airstrip or by road from Kampala, transfer to your lodge located within Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy lunch overlooking the park’s vast plains and the Rwenzori Mountains. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive through the Kasenyi Plains, known for their diverse wildlife including lions, elephants, and Uganda kobs. Return to your lodge for a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening by the campfire.

Day 2: Wildlife Safari and Boat Cruise Rise early for a sunrise game drive in the park, where you’ll have the best chance to spot predators as they hunt in the cool morning hours. After breakfast, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, home to one of the highest concentrations of hippos in Africa. Enjoy close-up views of elephants, buffalo, and numerous bird species along the shores. Return to your lodge for lunch and an optional afternoon safari or cultural visit to nearby communities.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking and Nature Walk After breakfast, venture into the Kyambura Gorge for an exhilarating chimpanzee tracking experience. Explore the forested gorge with experienced guides, learning about the behavior and conservation efforts of these fascinating primates. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk through the Maramagambo Forest, home to bat caves and unique bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Ishasha Sector and Cultural Interaction Depart for the Ishasha sector, renowned for its tree-climbing lions that rest on ancient fig trees. Enjoy a game drive through this remote wilderness, keeping an eye out for other wildlife such as topis, hyenas, and leopards. In the afternoon, visit a local community to learn about their traditional way of life, including crafts and dances. Enjoy a cultural performance before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Departure Enjoy a leisurely breakfast with views of the park’s wildlife before departing Queen Elizabeth National Park. Transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe, reminiscing about the incredible wildlife encounters and cultural experiences during your time in Uganda’s most diverse national park.
