Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Kenya Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Amboseli – Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi or upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by our representative. He will brief you about the safari and then set off to Amboseli National Park, a scenic Kenya National Park sitting on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro – the tallest mountain in Africa. The park prides itself in the scenic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro and its huge herds of elephants.

Arrive in the park in time for lunch at your lodge, later in afternoon set out for your first game drive exploring the park. Keep an eye out for several animals including large herds of elephants with impressive tusks, buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, lions among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Game Viewing in Amboseli

Enjoy an early breakfast and head to the park for a full day game drive with your packed lunch boxes. You will do morning and afternoon game drives giving you enough time to explore the park, enjoy magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro and its snow-capped summit.

Be on a lookout for several wildlife species such as large herds of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos and over 400 bird species. Enjoy lunch at one of the picnic sites in the park and continue with the game drive till sunset, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and set off on a journey to Masai Mara National Reserve with picnic lunch. Enjoy beautiful views of the countryside along the way and when you arrive in the reserve, check in at your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Full Day Game Viewing in Masai Mara

Wake up early for breakfast, and leave for a full day game drive in with your packed lunch boxes. With your experienced driver-guide you will explore different regions of Masai Mara and be in position to track the vast wildlife the reserve is known for.

Masai Mara National Reserve is the most iconic safari destination in Kenya and listed among the best places in Africa to see wildlife. The reserve hosts one of the finest collection of wild animals anywhere in the world, with over 90 species of mammals recorded. The Masai Mara is home to the Big Five – lion, leopard, cape buffalo, rhinos and elephants and the Great Wildebeest Migration. During the game drive you will see these animals from the comfort of your safari vehicle, other animals you will see including zebras, gazelles, cheetahs, aardvark, African Hare, Antelope speies such as Oribi, Kirk’s Dik-Dik, and Klipspringers among others.

Your lunch will be set at one of the picnic sites along the Mara River, enjoy views of animals as they graze while enjoying your meals. Continue exploring the reserve till sunset, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Visit Masai village & Depart

After breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and go for a visit to the Maasai Village where you will interact with the local people, be entertained by local dances and drama, take part in rearing their livestock and get a taste of their local cuisine giving you a glimpse into their culture and traditions that have survived technology and modernity.

After this enriching experience, you will set on a journey back to Nairobi where you will be dropped off either at your hotel or at the airport bringing your safari to an end.
